1.it is mainly used as a photographic developer.

2.1,4-Benzenediol and its alkylate are widely used as polymerization inhibitors in monomer storage and transportation, and the concentration is usually about 200ppm.

3.1,4-Benzenediol monomethyl ether is an intermediate of edible oil antioxidant BHA; 1,4-Benzenediol dimethyl ether is an intermediate of dyes, organic pigments and perfumes; hydroquinone diethyl ether is an intermediate of photosensitive pigments and dyes .

4.1,4-Benzenediol is also used in the preparation of N, N’-diphenyl-p-phenylenediamine, which is an antioxidant and anti-odor agent for rubber and gasoline.
