Application
1. Used in pharmaceutical, fragrance, and dye intermediate materials and color film oil-soluble color formers. Also used as a raw material for the production of isophthalic acid. However, compared with the ortho- and para-isomers, the amount is less, so it is often converted to other isomers by isomerization.
2. For the production of isophthalic acid, m-methyl benzoic acid, isophthalonitrile, and the like.
