Usage
It is mainly used as a pharmaceutical intermediate, it can also used in other organic synthesis, such as preparation of oil-soluble resin, fumigation agent, synthetic organic mercury sterilizers, pesticides, and rubber intermediates.
4-tert-Amylphenol, is an antimicrobial pesticide. It has also been shown that para-substituted phenols and their 2-dimethylaminomethyl and 2-phenylthiomethyl derivs. posses antioxidative activity, and is used in lubricating oils, fuels, fats, and polymers.
In the manufacture of oil-soluble resins; has been recommended as intermediate for organic mercury germicides, for pesticides, for chemicals used in rubber and petroleum industries.
